A boat carrying more than 70 migrants overturned off the coast of Tunisia on Wednesday, the Tunisian Red Crescent reported.
According to the Red Crescent official Mongi Slim, four survivors told the Tunisian coast guard that the boat had sunk off the coast of Zarzis.
Mongi Slim added that one of the migrants later died in hospital.
The European Union has been experiencing a large-scale migration crisis since 2015 due to the influx of hundreds of thousands of migrants and refugees fleeing crises in their home countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
