The movement announced on Wednesday that it had launched a drone attack on Jizan Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia, Reuters reported.

According to Houthi spokesman Yahya Saria, the attack has disrupted airport operations. Riyadh has yet to confirm the statement.

On Tuesday, Riyadh said that the Houthis had attacked Saudi warplane hangars at Jizan Airport and the drone was intercepted by the military.

The Saudi-led coalition has been engaged in the civil war in Yemen since March 2015, when it began carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi militant group at the request of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. In response, the Houthis have launched numerous attacks against the kingdom.
