Two Dead as Cargo Plane Crashes, Bursts Into Flames Near Toledo Airport - Reports

Two people died in the Convair 440 plane crash just east of Toledo Express Airport, Ohio port authority spokeswoman Kayla Lewandowski said, as quoted by the CNN.

According to reports, the plane crashed at or around 2:37 a.m. local time (6:37 a.m. GMT).

Joe Rotterdam, the port authority's manager of airline affairs, stated that officials haven't yet confirmed whether a distress call was made from the aircraft, adding that it's not clear whether there was a so-called black box with recorded data about the flight.

Photos and videos of the plane wreckage and fire after the crash have appeared online.

Toledo Express Airport remains open despite the crash.
