4.9-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Southern France - Report

Early on Monday morning, an earthquake hit southern France with shock going from Nîmes to Montpellier via Bagnols-sur-Cèze.

The National Seismic Monitoring Network has reported that two earthquakes measuring 5.1 and 5.7 were detected. According to French Le Progrès outlet, the epicentre is located 10 km from Montélimar, in the Drôme, for the first, and the second 25 km from Aubenas, Ardèche.

​There are no immediate reports of major damages or injuries, though people living in the affected area have been turning to Twitter to share photos and opinions on the earthquake.
