According to Russian-based media reports, the registry authority in Peterhof will not allow Ded Moroz (Father Frost) and his granddaughter Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), another fairy tale character, to become newlyweds.
Officials claimed that fairy tale cosplay does not comply with the rigorous dress code for a bride and a groom. The young people eventually received a written denial, Russian media said.
According to the groom, the officials proposed instead a simple registration without any ceremony or photo session. The local registration office refused to comment on the matter, according to media reports.
