Monty Python Star Terry Jones Dies at 77 - Reports

British surreal comedy group Monty Python used to create a sketch comedy television show Monty Python's Flying Circus that was aired at a certain interval on the BBC between 1969 and 2014.

Monty Python member Terry Jones deceased on Tuesday evening following a long battle with a rare form of dementia, his agent and family have said.

"Terry passed away on the evening of 21 January 2020 at the age of 77 with his wife Anna Soderstrom by his side after a long, extremely brave but always good-humoured battle with a rare form of dementia, FTD," the statement issued by the family says.

Jones, who appeared in the group's YV series "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and "The Life of Brian" was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2016.

Jones used to write sketches with another Monty Python's star Michael Palin back in the 60s even before they teamed up with Eric Idle, John Cleese, Graham Chapman and Terry Gilliam to create Monty Python's Flying Circus.
