This year, the conference was dedicated to the situation in Ukraine, Syria, and Libya, as well as to the lack of common ground among Western countries, with Washington and Brussels divided over security issues.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov holds a presser after the 2020 Munich Security Conference (MSC).

On the sidelines of the event, the Russian diplomat held talks with his German counterpart Heiko Maas, as well as Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
