The Israel Defense Forces confirmed via Twitter that various alarms were activated in the area, noting that the matter was being reviewed by officials.

Further sirens were activated late Monday night in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, less than a mile from the Gaza border, the IDF reported. Video purported to show at least one rocket launched at the commune.

According to the Jerusalem Post, sirens were initiated in the Ein Hashlosha, Kissifum and Nirim communities. Citing Palestinian reports, the Post reported that Israeli officials had shuttered the Kerem Shalom Crossing and the Gaza fishing zone as a result of the latest developments.

Video footage shared on social media captured the moments that Israeli defense systems intercepted various projectiles.

Local media reports indicate that municipalities in southern Israel have opted to cancel school for Tuesday in light of the ongoing rocket launches.

This latest missile exchange in the area comes after multiple projectiles were launched over the weekend. At the time, the IDF noted that it had zeroed in on targets belonging to the Islamic Jihad group that had reportedly been planning an attack against the Israeli state.
