Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral Rings Its Bell a Year After Blaze - Video

A major fire broke out at Notre Dame on 15 April 2019 causing the collapse of the cathedral's spire and the partial destruction of its roof. While the cause has not yet been determined, the French authorities have ruled out criminal motives. French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to rebuild Notre Dame in five years.

The Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, which was heavily damaged in a devastating fire a year ago is ringing its bell in honour of the incident. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on movement, believers cannot approach the cathedral. 

In the meantime, people in France are expected to applaud the country's health workers battling coronavirus pandemic.
