Two young men have been arrested after a knife attack in the German town of Hanau, the magazine Focus reported, citing a police spokesman.

The suspects are said to be 23 and 29 years old, but there are no additional details in the report. It is believed that up to seven people participated in a stabbing attack, injuring four passersby on Tuesday.

The wounded were taken to a local hospital, and, according to the police, their lives are not in danger. However, the motives behind the assault remain unclear.

In late February, a gunman, identified as 43-year-old Tobias R., went on a shooting spree in Hanau, murdering ten people and wounding six more at two shisha bars before returning home where he killed his mother and committed suicide.

According to German authorities, there were signs that the Hanau shooting was a racially motivated terror attack.
