The anniversary of the victory over the Nazis in WWII is observed annually on 8 May in Europe and 9 May in post-Soviet countries.

Victory Day marks the final defeat of Nazi Germany by the Soviet Union and the allies in World War II. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the triumph.

A number of commemorative events for the occasion, including the country's major military parade in Red Square, have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
