Russian Defenсe Ministry Plans Four Flights to Bring Military Specialists Home From Serbia

BELGRADE (Sputnik) - The Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday announced four flights from Serbia, which will happen later in the day, to bring back Russian military specialists and equipment engaged in assisting Serbians in their fight against COVID-19.

"We are planning to have four flights and bring approximately 20 service members and five items of equipment to Russia on 17 May", the ministry said in a statement.

The first group of specialists returned home on three flights on Saturday.

In early April, Russia sent seven teams of medical doctors and virologists to the Balkan nation, along with several planeloads of medical supplies. According to the Serbian authorities, Russian virologists helped to fight the disease in the areas of the country most affected by the virus.
