Georgia NAACP Holds March Against Police Brutality and Racism Outside State Capitol - Video

Last week, 27-year-old black man, Rayshard Brooks, was shot dead by police in Atlanta after allegedly starting an altercation with officers after they suspected him of being intoxicated. The incident has intensified the 'Black Lives Matter' protests in the US sparked by the death of George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis in May.

Watch a live broadcast from Atlanta, where the Georgia National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) leads a march towards the Georgia State Capitol on Monday to urge lawmakers to fight against police aggression, racism and voter suppression.

This march is another event in a series of 'Black Lives Matter' protests which have been held regularly all across the US and Europe following the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis last month.

The demonstration takes place at a time when lawmakers are returning to the Capitol after a few months break announced amid the coronavirus pandemic.
