After Twitter limited verified accounts from tweeting due to a massive hacker attack that occured on Wednesday, Sputnik created a temporary SputnikNews Twitter page to keep readers posted so that no important news would be missed. All updates shared on the temporary page have now been retweeted to the official account.

As Twitter later announced that all verified accounts can return to functioning normally after a period of tweeting limitation, we return all the updates back to our blue-ticked account.

The limitation of verified account tweeting came amid a massive security breach that rocked the social network with a hacker attack, affecting prominent accounts of politicians, artists and big companies.

Among the affected accounts were those of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Mike Bloomberg and many more. Screenshots shared on Twitter showed that the account of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu was also hacked.

Twitter has launched an investigation into the matter and pledged to "take steps to fix it", announcing that users may not be able to tweet or reset passwords as the incident is reviewed.
