"Today marks a milestone event in the Belarusian energy industry’s history as the first of 163 #nuclear fuel assemblies has been loaded into the highly anticipated #Belarusian NPP. Here is to a hundred of years of clean energy!" Rosatom wrote on Twitter.
The Belarusian NPP is under construction in the town of Astravets in the Grodno region. The plant's general contractor is Atomstroyexport, a subsidiary of Russian nuclear corporation Rosatom.
It will feature two power units with VVER-1200 pressurized water reactors.
