Joint forces of the Saudi-led coalition have intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the Houthi movement from Yemen in the direction of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The report comes after southern militants in Yemen’s Aden on 26 August stated that they had suspended talks with the country’s legitimate authorities and Saudi Arabia on the implementation of the November Riyadh peace deal over military hostilities conducted by government-linked forces. The accord aims to put an end to a military confrontation between the hostile forces.
Since March 2015, the Saudi-led Arab coalition, working in cooperation with Hadi’s forces, has been conducting air, land, and sea operations against the Houthis, who control the capital of Sanaa and large areas in northern and western Yemen. The Houthi movement also conducts drone and missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.
