6.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off Vanuatu - EMSC

According to seismologists, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 40 kilometres (almost 25 miles). No possible casualties or damage have been reported so far.

A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck 95 kilometres northwest of Port-Villa in Vanuatu, the EMSC said on Sunday.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) has registered a 6.3-magnitude earthquake 101 kilometres northwest of Port-Villa.

No tsunami alert has been issued. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre also said there is no tsunami danger to California, Oregon, Washington, or Alaska.
