More diversity within the industry was revealed by DB Entertainment, as the new 5 member girl band Black Swan dropped their debut MV “Tonight” on the 16th of October.

The agency rebooted their previous girl band Rania with 5 members: Hyeme, Young-heun, Leia, Fatou, and Judy. Two of them are African and Brazilian-Japanese.

Fatou, a Senegalese singer and model, became the second black K-pop idol in the industry. The first one was Alexandra Reid, who is a former member of the previous line up in Rania, and who left the group in 2017. Fatou was a model under Cineline Entertainment before deciding to become a trainee.

Leia, another mixed member, is also known by her Japanese name Ayumi Sakata or her Brazilian name Larissa Cartes. She was added to the lineup of Rania in 2019, but in 2020 the agency introduced her as a member of Black Swan. That makes her the second Brazilian idol in the K-pop industry, the first being AboutU's Victor.

K-pop netizens welcomed the new concept group and have high hopes for their success with the debut album “Goodbye Rania”.
