'Numbers Don't Lie': Trump Fails to Win Georgia's Electoral Votes, Secretary of State Says

Georgia, one of the key battleground states where Trump demanded a recount, was called in Biden's favour by the Associated Press earlier this day giving the Democrat candidate a total of 306 votes in the electoral college.

President Donald Trump has failed to win Georgia's electoral votes after the hand recount, Georgia's secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, said Friday.

"Like other Republicans. I'm disappointed, our candidate didn't win Georgia's electoral votes", Raffensperger said. "I live by the motto that numbers don't lie. As secretary of state, I believe that the numbers that we have presented today are correct."

Final Call: AP Projects Biden Victory in Georgia After Hand Vote Recount Announcement
According to media reports, Georgia certified Democrat Joe Biden as the presidential vote winner in the state.

Earlier in the day, Raffensperger said in an interview with WSB-TV that the hand recount did not show any significant difference from the original count, which prompted AP to make its final call and name Joe Biden winner of presidential race in Georgia.

The statement was supported by Georgia's voting system manager, Gabriel Sterling, who also said that after the recount was completed, Biden emerged as the winner.

Presidential Race in Georgia

Biden's win in Georgia marks the first time in almost two decades that the Peach State has voted Democrat in the presidential elections.

In the 2016 election, Trump secured a victory in the state, outdoing Hillary Clinton by 5,09 percentage points.

Democrat candidate Joe Biden has been projected as President-elect by all major US media in 2020 US presidential election.

However, Trump has said he won the election but victory was stolen from him via massive fraud and acts of impropriety on behalf of the Democrats. Trump has initiated audits and recounts in several states, including Georgia where the margin was 0.3%, which was sufficient to trigger the audit.
