6.0-Magnitude Quake Hits Northern Chile, German Research Centre for Geosciences Says

According to seismologists, the quake was registered at a depth of 105 kilometres.

A 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit the coast of northern Chile, the German Research Centre for Geosciences reported. 

The US Geological Survey (USGS) has measured the quake at 6.1 on the Richter scale, adding that it occurred at 19:47 local time, with the epicentre located at a depth of 102.3km. 

According to USGS, the quake hit 113km to the east of the city of Iquique.

No damage or injuries have been reported as yet.
