The failure apparently affected the official pages of the Cuban government, such as the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) as well as the ETECSA website, the country's telecommunications company. Around noon, access to all pages in the domain ".cu" were suspended.
Users outside Cuba have reported experiencing trouble sending messages and making calls to the island.
The causes of the outage are yet to be established, the media outlet said.
