The Saudi-led coalition said that it had intercepted an explosive-laden drone launched by Houthis towards the Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, the Saudi press agency reported.

According to the coalition, it also intercepted two explosive-laden boats.

On Thursday, Saudi Arabia said that a projectile fired by Houthis had caused a fire at an oil terminal in the port city of Jazan. The attack came days after Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government announced a commitment to reach a ceasefire and engage in UN-led peace talks.

Six years ago, on 26 March, a Saudi-led coalition launched its operation to support Yemeni government forces in the conflict with Houthi rebels. On Monday, Saudi Arabia proposed a widespread UN-sponsored ceasefire in Yemen and said that it was awaiting a response from the Houthis.

The Houthis often fire projectiles and use drones laden with explosives to attack Saudi border areas.
