Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the countries should prevent Russia-US relations from deteriorating further and that ties need to be revived.

Peskov said that Russia will understand where to move in relations with the United States after revising bilateral relations under the Biden administration.

"There will be a revision of bilateral Russian-American relations under the current administration. After that, some kind of understanding of where to move on will be expressed," Peskov said.

Moscow will not allow the United States to speak to Russia from a position of strength, Peskov said.

"I would not like to talk about extreme scenarios. But no one will allow America to speak to Russia from a position of strength. It is impossible... Neither [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, nor anyone else from the Russian leadership will allow the Americans or anyone else to talk to us like that. This is out of the question," Peskov said

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said the United States did not accept Vladimir Putin’s offer to hold an online conversation with US President Joe Biden, adding that another opportunity to find a way out of the deadlock in bilateral relations was missed and the United States is to blame for it.
