Jeremy Corbyn Takes Flak for 'Dreadfully Timed' Tweet on Bolivia Minutes After Prince Philip's Death

The post was published less than an hour after Buckingham Palace announced that the Duke of Edinburgh had died, aged 99. Corbyn later deleted the tweet and replaced it with a post expressing his condolences to the royal family.

Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has faced a backlash on Twitter after publishing a tweet "in support of the Bolivian people", containing a link to an event marking six months since the left-wing candidate Luis Arce won the election in the Latin American country.

However, it is the timing of the tweet that irritated most users, as it was posted 40 minutes after the announcement of Prince Philip's death.

Corbyn later deleted the post and offered his condolences to the Royal Family, but unforgiving Twitter was still left fuming over the politician's poorly timed post.
