NASA's Ingenuity Mars helicopter is making its first attempt at a controlled flight. The test is expected to go on for 20-30 seconds, with the vehicle hovering in the atmosphere and then landing so the scientists can determine whether the helicopter works properly.

Originally, the flight was scheduled for 11 April, but it was delayed as NASA opted for additional checking before the operation.
