In Shakespeare's play, Twelfth Night, music is described as "the food of love". Now, K-Pop legends Bangtan Boys - also known as BTS - have brought new meaning to the expression by going into collaboration with McDonald's.

The band has seen their popularity reach fever pitch and the tie-in with the world's mightiest fast-food chain is proof of the fact. From 26 May, the “BTS meal” will appear in branches of McDonald's over 11 countries with the US the first to stock the meal.

The set menu will include nine or 10 Chicken McNuggets, french fries, and a coke along with sweet chili and cajun dipping sauces which have been inspired by the popular sauce introduced by McDonald's throughout its Korean branches. The campaign will expand throughout the month until 20 June when the meal will be available in 49 countries over six continents.

McDonald's clearly understands that there are simply no words to describe the international allure of BTS as this is the first time the chain has promoted a celebrity menu in more than one market. McDonald's hopes that this collaboration with BTS will help it to increase its global sales and make up for some of the losses it suffered because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Armys (the official name for fans of BTS) swept the SNS networks with happy jokes about the news.
