RDIF Announces Plans to Develop Digital Healthcare Solutions Jointly With Sanofi in Russia

ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) - The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has teamed up with Paris-based pharma giant Sanofi to jointly implement digital healthcare projects in Russia, the Fund announced Friday on the sidelines of the ongoing St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF, Russia's sovereign wealth fund) and Sanofi, one of the [world's] leading global pharmaceutical companies, agree to cooperate for the joint implementation of digital healthcare projects in Russia", the RDIF said in a press release.

The Russian sovereign wealth fund and the pharmaceutical company, in particular, intend to engage in developing, maintaining, managing, and marketing Virtual Healthcare products in four therapeutic areas, including hypertension and diabetes, as part of the RDIF's strategy to promote leading healthcare technologies in Russia.

"[The] partnership with Sanofi and promotion of digital solutions in healthcare will make an important contribution to achieving the goals set out in Russia's national projects 'Healthcare' and 'Digital Economy'. Both the RDIF and Sanofi strive to increase the availability of quality medical aid and implement innovative digital services in healthcare", RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev said in a statement released by the company.

SPIEF — Russia's annual flagship business event — has been held annually in St. Petersburg since 1997. Rossiya Segodnya is an official media partner of the forum.
