Last week, French President Emmanuel Macron announced tougher coronavirus-related measures across the country that, among other requirements, oblige people to have so-called health passports if they want to visit leisure and cultural venues.

Macron previously ordered all health workers to get vaccinated by mid-September, while also introducing so-called “health passports” for regular citizens if they wish to visit leisure and culture venues.
Starting from August, bars, restaurants, hospitals, and long-distance travel by train will also require health passports. In September, French citizens will be billed if they want to take a PCR test, unless it's prescribed by a doctor.
