Sputnik is live from the French capital on Saturday, 31 July, as Parisians take to the streets to protest against mandatory coronavirus vaccination and new restrictions. The protests have been rocking the nation for weeks, with the public venting their anger over new government legislation designed to tackle the spread of COVID.
Last Saturday, some 160,000 protested in nationwide demonstrations against the introduction of the health passes that require every person to show proof of full vaccination, a negative PCR, or antibody test to enter any public place, including a bar or a restaurant.
Despite the rallies, the new measures came into force on Wednesday, 21 July.
