US Secretary of State Briefs Media on Expansion of Resettlement Eligibility for Afghans

The Taliban met the withdrawal of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan with a renewed offensive and have already captured several key border crossings and territories in the country.

Watch a live broadcast from Washington, DC where US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is commenting on the Biden administration's plans to expand resettlement eligibility for Afghans amid the resurgence of the Taliban. 
Earlier, the US administration announced a Priority 2 designation for the US Refugee Admissions Programme in a bid to increase the number of Afghans eligible for relocation to the US.
In May, US President Joe Biden announced that his country would end its 20-year-long military presence in Afghanistan and would withdraw all forces by 31 August.
