After leaving her position, Angela Merkel will be receiving a huge pension - some 15,000 euros each month, the DPA news agency reported on Saturday.
Merkel, who has been in the Bundestag since 1990 and has served as chancellor for 15 years, is entitled to a pension of 65% of the parliamentary salary, according to the report. In addition, she will be entitled to hiring assistants, a secretary, and a driver at the state's expense.

Since Merkel refused to take part in the next Bundestag election, she will resign after a new government is formed. The politician remains discreet about her plans.
"There are demands made of me while I am in the office and I will continue in that way until my last day", Merkel told the press.
