The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday revealed that its fighter jets attacked what the military described as a "Hamas terrorist compound" in response to what it claimed was the launch of incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory, as well as "violent riots" on the border.
"Tonight, fighter jets attacked a Hamas terrorist compound, which is used for training and weapons production, and a shaft of a terrorist tunnel near Jabalya was attacked", the Israeli military said.
The IDF also provided video documentation of its attacks.
Earlier, the Shehab news agency reported that several explosions had occurred in the area of the Salah al-Din site after the Israeli army bombed Gaza Strip targets in response to a "night confusion" and the launch of incendiary balloons near the border.
According to reports, at least two missiles were launched at the site.
Footage allegedly showing the moment of the attack emerged on social media.
Earlier in the day, a video of an explosion allegedly occurring in the Gaza Strip "during the night confusion activities" was shared online.
According to The Jerusalem Post, "Night Harassment Units" began rioting on the border east of Gaza City at about 8 p.m. local time on Saturday. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that 11 Palestinians were injured during the night border protests.
