European Defence Ministers are holding a press conference on the outcome of their informal meeting. The officials are expected to make comments on the bloc's programmes such as the Common Security and Defence Policy, aimed at conflict prevention, and Strategic Compass, aimed at dealing with increasing threats and challenges. The defence ministers will also comment on the situation in Afghanistan, where the Taliban* has seized power.
*The Taliban is a terrorist organisation banned in Russia and many other nations.
