Fourteen People Killed, Two Injured as Military Helicopter Crashes in Azerbaijan

A military helicopter of the Azerbaijani State Border Service crashed this morning while performing training flights at the Garaheybat air range, located on the territory of the Khizi district.

Fourteen people were killed and two injured after an Azerbaijani military helicopter crashed on Monday, according to the Azerbaijani State Border Service.

"A military helicopter belonging to Azerbaijan's state border service crashed today at Garaheybat airfield in the Khizi district at approximately 10:40 (GMT 0640) while conducting a training flight," the border service and prosecutor general said.

The command of the State Border Service and the General Prosecutor's Office are at the scene of the incident. An investigation into the causes of the accident is underway.
