Earlier in the day, it was reported that a bottle was thrown by an unknown person at the site of the building.
Residents of the house found a suspicious object in the recess of the wall of the facade when cleaning the fragments, and called the police.
The police examined the object, which was a canister, wrapped in tape and wires, and called the bomb squad. The street was immediately cordoned off and firefighting services were also called to the scene.
The bomb squad arrived at about 7:20 pm local time, and a bang was heard after about an hour and a half.
A source close to police told Sputnik that the detonator has been already separated from the combustible substance in the explosive device, and the bomb disposal unit was said to be working now to extract the materials that will be sent for examination.
Within an hour, investigators are expected arrive at the scene and the incident will most likely be investigated by the department of state security.
Russophobia on the Rise in EU
Russian media have been subjected to a crackdown in the EU countries over its coverage of the special operation in Ukraine. On March 2, EU authorities suspended two Russian media outlets that are part of MIA Rossiya Segodnya, including Sputnik, RT English, RT UK, RT Germany, RT France and RT Spanish.
In a separate development, Instagram and Meta (banned in Russia), formerly known as Facebook, restricted access to Sputnik and RT across the EU.
Russia slammed the move as an act of censorship and "manipulation of the information agenda".
Apart from that, a number of Russian memorials and other sites associated with Russian history or authorities have been attacked across Europe. In early April, the Soviet war memorial in Treptow Park in Germany was attacked by vandals, who doused it with red paint and wrote anti-Russian slogans on the monument. German police have registered 16 acts of vandalism against the Soviet memorials in Berlin since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine on February 24, according to local media.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russophobia has become unprecedented and is already becoming the political ideology of a number of states. Russian President Vladimir Putin also stated that discrimination against everything connected with Russia was progressing in the West.
