Brazil Bids Farewell to Pele at Urbano Caldeira Stadium

The famous football player was considered to be the greatest striker of all time. He managed to score 1,279 goals in 1,363 games, setting a Guinness World Record. The International Olympic Committee named him Athlete of the Century in 1999.

A two-day farewell for Pele started on January 2 at Santos’ home stadium Urbano Caldeira, also known as Vila Belmiro, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The football legend's coffin was placed on the pitch, allowing everyone to pay their respects to the three-time World Cup winner.
Pele died on December 29 after a long battle with colon cancer. He was 82.
