Russian volunteer soldiers are undergoing training at test ranges in the Zaporozhye region, where they are also practicing the use of a combat robot weapon station equipped with a large-caliber machine gun, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The training also includes practicing combat operations using a robotic system equipped with a large-caliber machine gun to support assault units," the statement said.
It should be noted that experienced instructors at the testing grounds in the Zaporozhye region conduct training sessions with the personnel of the rifle unit of the military commander's office.
Military personnel practice firing portable RPG-7 anti-tank grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and rifles at targets simulating enemy equipment and troops, as well as various tactical maneuvers in which they transition from one form of combat to another in constantly changing scenarios.
The video footage released by the Russian Ministry of Defense showed military trainees firing in pairs, with a robot equipped with a machine gun moving in front of them, taking aim, and also opening fire. After every few dozen shots, the military personnel and the robot alternately move forward and sideways.
As the instructor with the call sign "Lavren" noted, the military personnel continue their training until they act confidently. According to him, the main difficulty for newcomers is that their hands shake after holding weapons for a long time. Before they start shooting, the soldiers perform special exercises to eliminate this deficiency.
"The combat training is at the highest level. I'd say it's very close to actual combat operations," noted the sniper with the call sign "Solnyshko" [Sun] who recently signed a contract.
