US Pledges $1.2Bln to Enrich Space Force Systems

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The Aerospace Corporation has been awarded a contract worth more than $1.2 billion to provide systems engineering and integration support to a US Space Force agency, the Department of Defense said in a press release.

US' New Spy Satellite Constellation: Another Small Step Toward Militarization of Space
The Space Systems Command, a US Space Force agency, at El Segundo, California is contracting activity that will oversee the work, the Defense Department revealed.
Work on the contract is expected to be completed by September of 2024, the release said.
Moscow has repeatedly warned against militarizing space and and stressed that US and its allies are attempting to undermine international agreements designed to prevent an arms race in space and conflicts on orbit.
The UN supports the idea that the militarization of space should be prevented and advocates for a ban on the weaponization of space.
