“The Aerospace Corp., El Segundo, California, has been awarded a $1,217,826,697…contract for systems engineering and integration support for the National Space Community," the release said.
The Space Systems Command, a US Space Force agency, at El Segundo, California is contracting activity that will oversee the work, the Defense Department revealed.
Work on the contract is expected to be completed by September of 2024, the release said.
Moscow has repeatedly warned against militarizing space and and stressed that US and its allies are attempting to undermine international agreements designed to prevent an arms race in space and conflicts on orbit.
The UN supports the idea that the militarization of space should be prevented and advocates for a ban on the weaponization of space.
