Shia Militants Attack US Military Base in Iraqi Kurdistan With Two Drones

CAIRO (Sputnik) - The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, which includes Shia armed groups, said on Thursday that it has attacked a US military base in Iraqi Kurdistan with two drones.

Earlier in the day, the armed groups said that they attacked another US base in northeastern Syria.

“Fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq attacked the base of the American occupiers adjacent to the airport in Erbil with two drones,” the armed groups said in a statement.

On October 25, Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder told reporters that there were 13 attacks against US forces in the Middle East over the past week, 10 in Iraq and three in Syria.
According to CENTCOM, US forces and personnel were also attacked in Bashur, Iraq; Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center, Iraq; Mission Support Site Euphrates, Syria; and Mission Support Site Green Village, Syria.
