Sisi was reelected for a third consecutive term as president of Egypt.
The presidential election took place in Egypt from December 10-12. A total of four candidates, including Sisi, ran for a six-year term.
Sisi has been the Egyptian president since June 2014, assuming power after a period of unrest prompted by the so-called Arab Spring, which ousted decades-long leader Hosni Mubarak. He was re-elected with 97 percent of votes in the March 26-28, 2018, poll with a 41-percent turnout.
