Russian Army, Border Guards Thwart Ukrainian Militants Attempt to Break into Kursk Region

The Ukrainian army actively tried to break into Kursk region this March ahead of the presidential elections in Russia, yet all militants were neutralized by the Russian Armed Forces and border guards.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to break into the territory of the Russian Kursk region, but the fighters of the FSB Border Guard Service and the Russian Armed Forces did not allow a breakthrough, acting governor Alexei Smirnov said.

"Today, the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts reported about Ukrainian forces' attempts to break through into the territory of the Kursk region. The fighters of the Russian FSB Border Guard Service did not allow to break the border through," he wrote on his social networks.

The head of the Kursk region urged everyone to remain vigilant and rely only on official information.
Earlier, 13 aircraft-type UAVs over the territory of the Kursk region and nine Ukrainian UAVs over the territory of the Belgorod region were destroyed by air defense on duty. In addition, one of the drones attacked a passenger car at the Glushkovo station. Two local residents were injured, they were taken to a regional hospital.
