MOSCOW (Sputnik) -The price of silver jumped about 2% on Friday, climbing above $43 per troy ounce for the first time since September 2011, according to trading data.

As of 08:48 GMT, December silver futures had surged 2.1% to $43.033 per ounce, surpassing the $43 mark for the first time since September 5, 2011.
