YEKATERINBURG, August 24 (RIA Novosti) - The bodies of three Russian firefighters have been recovered after they died in a fire at an oil depository in northern Siberia, a ministry spokesman said on Monday.
The fire at the Konda facility in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area started on Saturday when lightening struck an oil reservoir with a volume of 20,000 cubic meters of oil, then spread to two other reservoirs.
"The body of a third Emergency Situations Ministry worker has been discovered," the spokesman said.
Three people died while fighting the blaze and five others were injured. Four of the injured were sent to hospital. Two emergency vehicles were destroyed in explosions.
According to the spokesman, the fire is now under control, with 355 firefighters and other emergency workers extinguishing hotspots.
