Moscow has hosted the 17th Interpolitex-2013 security exhibition. A series of demonstrations were held at a testing ground near Moscow. 29.10.2013, Sputnik International
Elite Russian commando units taking part included the Vityaz and Peresvet units of the Interior Ministry Troops, and units from the Federal Drug Control Service and the Federal Penitentiary Service.
Members of the Fakel special weapons and tactics unit of the Federal Penitentiary Service took only a matter of seconds to release a person posing as a hostage from a car. The commandos admit that they don’t use live weapons very often.
“We have to deal with inmates inside buildings, and so we don’t use weapons very often,” a member of the Federal Penitentiary Service’s special weapons and tactics unit said.
