NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – At least eight people have been killed and another four wounded after a passenger van caught fire in the northern Pakistani province of Punjab, local media reported Monday.

The vehicle was en route from Lahore to Rawalpindi, when an electrical short circuit started the fire in the city of Jhelum, according to the broadcaster Geo TV.

The van was carrying 16 people in total. Four passengers managed to jump out of the vehicle.
