One person has reportedly been injured in the shooting at the high school, police said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
Santa Rosa Police have reportedly detained the suspect. A search is ongoing for the weapon.
“We had a shooting on the campus of Ridgway High School this morning. Right now we have an outstanding suspect. We have one victim. It doesn’t appear to be an active shooter situation at this time”, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Summer Gloeckner said.
The Santa Rosa Police sergeant said that the male victim had been shot at least once, reportedly in the abdomen. The extent of his injuries is not immediately clear.

The incident comes a day after the US Department of Justice said in a press release that schools throughout the United States would receive $85.3 million from the US federal government in grants to fight school shootings and other violent incidents.
"By training faculty, students and first responders, and by improving school security measures, we can make schools and their communities safer", US Attorney General William Barr said in the release.
According to the release, the money for the grants is also intended for police and other first responders who arrive at the scene of a school shooting or other violent events.
The Justice Department’s Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Office, which has invested more than $14 billion to advance community policing since 1994, issued the safety grants, the release added.
The United States has been rocked by several mass shootings, with the latest attacks taking place in August. On 3 August, a shooting in a Walmart in the city of El Paso left 22 people dead and 20 more injured. Less than 24 hours later, another gunman killed nine people and wounded 27 others in a separate shooting in the city of Dayton in Ohio. According to media reports, the El Paso shooter admitted to the authorities that he had intentionally targeted Mexican nationals.
