A group of militants attacked two oil wells northwest of Kirkuk in the northern part of Iraq on Saturday, the oil ministry said. The attack at the Bai Hassan oil field "did not cause a fire or damage, affect production, or stop oil pumping from the well", according to the statement.
The ministry said explosives were used in the attack but did not specify the details. No organisation has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
