Aftermath of Deadly Easter Blasts at Churches, Hotels in Sri Lanka (VIDEO)

Some 215 people were killed and 450 injured in a series of deadly blasts that ripped through Sri Lanka’s churches and hotels on Sunday. The country's government has held an emergency meeting regarding the incident.

The number of people killed in a series of deadly blasts that hit churches and hotels in Sri Lanka has risen to 215, while the number of injured is estimated to be 450. The police have detained at least seven suspects in connection with the blasts. The nation's state minister for defence called the explosions a terrorist attack.

The police initially reported that three Catholic churches were hit by blasts in Sri Lanka on Sunday during Easter mass, as well as three large hotels — the Cinnamon Grand, Kingsbury, and Shangri-La. Later on, the South Asian nation was rocked by two more explosions.
