Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz previously stated he will relax some of the measures introduced to curb the coronavirus on 16 March: non-essential stores under 400 square metres will be reopened, while big shops, malls, and hairdressers will be allowed to resume their business on the 1st of May.

However, strict social distancing rules are remaining in place, as the authorities urge people to stay at home to contain the outbreak.
