Explosion Kills 6 Near Pro-Palestinian Rally in Pakistan - Photos, Video

The event, organised by a group of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party, was held in support of Palestinians amid the recent hostilities between the Israeli military and Hamas, who have been exchanging fire over the past 11 days.

According to preliminary reports, the bomb went off near a demonstration close to the Afghan border, near Chaman, in the province of Balochistan.

At least 6 people died, while 12 were wounded in the attack. After the explosion, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

"It was an improvised explosive device which went off as participants began to disperse", Tariq Mengal, a senior local administration official in Chaman, told the press.

Per local news networks, citing police, the bomb targeted the car of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam party official Molana Abdul Qadir Loni, but he was not killed or wounded by the explosion.
